Cafe Hue Reviews (1221)
I decided to try this spot after dining at the Thai restaurant next door, and I'm so glad I did! I was craving dessert, and even though I'm not usually a fan of crepes, this place completely won me over. I ordered the strawberry cheesecake crepe with yogurt or vanilla gelato on top, and it was absolutely delicious. I loved it so much that I brought my family back, and now it's one of their favorite dessert spots too! I believe both of my sons brought their girlfriends here as well. My mother-in-law even craves it frequently and always requests this place for dessert. When it's not busy, the ambiance is relaxed and inviting. less
Best thing ever to have lunch or dinner elsewhere and top it off with some deliciously tasty treats at Cafe Hue! Today, we enjoyed the Very Berry Crepe, which was chock full of sliced strawberries, Blueberries and a sweet buttery whipped cream. Washed it down with an awesome Affogato coffee with coffee ice cream. Oh heavenly! less
I liked it here. The decor is interesting... but the workers are kind. I like the gelato, crepes, and waffles. less
I have taken almost everyone I know here because everything about this place is amazing! I got the strawberry Nutella crepe and it's probably the best crepe I've had in San Diego. The waffles are yummy too.. had to steal a bite from my mom Service was great! Very happy people working which always helps enjoy your experience more. Loved the ambiance.. they had very cute hanging vines as decor and all in all would come back a thousand times over. less
Cafe Hue is my favorite place for crepes and waffles! Most other places make their crepes soggy but there is still crunch here. My favorite crepe is the hues coffee crepe with the biscoff cookie crumbs for extra crunch. I love the whipped cream they use because they make it fresh in house and it's not too sweet at all! My favorite waffle is the cream cheese waffle because the house made cream cheese perfectly balances out the sweet waffle. Studying here is good because of the ample seating. The employees are all very sweet and give great advice on what to get! The gelato here is great too (I love the yogurt and mascarpone) and they make it in house as well which is a plus! less
Finally made my way here after a few years and the desserts are amazing as always! We got an order of crepes and waffles made fresh and flavors are always on point. The service here is always fast and employees are always great. Restaurant is clean and organized with plenty of seating. less
I am so grateful to my fellow yelpers for leading me to Cafe Hue! This little gem is in the same shopping center at Nijiya market on Convoy, another gem... The parking lot there is always pretty full but people are always going in an out so you'll find a spot with a little patience. The shop is super cute, very clean, and well organized. There were two women working and they were both so helpful and informative. We learned they make the berry sauce in house every day and it was AMAZING!! All their teas can be hot or iced -- I had peach tea, iced with green tea base...you can also opt for a black tea base. I enjoyed my waffle so much I almost took a picture of my empty plate for Yelp just to show how I ate every drop and morsel! less
Crepe was good. Just good, but i'd come back. The menu is big but honestly the crepe selection didnt scream out PICK ME! I am a sucker for Taro or Ube. They had Taro. My Taro crepe was nothing special. Taro flavor was subdued. There was a small almost non existent sweet drizzle on top. Kinda blah overall. I wouldnt order it again. My son had Cookie Butter Crepe. This was a 4.5. Better than the Taro hands down! Nice crispy crunch from the Biscotti cookie crumbles w a sweet butter creme and Biscotti spread inside drizzled w chocolate sauce. I'd get this crepe again. Oh ya, no Ube on menu We did not try the waffles or ice cream. But next time we will try a scoop of ice cream on our crepe. I will re-evaluate and update my review. Ambiance is plain and simple inside. less
